Intercoolers
 
The stock factory intercooler is not only inefficient - it is positioned directly above the rear turbo and is not in a position of direct airflow. Essentially after a very short time in traffic or under spirited driving conditions your 'intercooler' becomes an 'interboiler' and as soon as the engine management system (ECU) sees a high air inlet temperature it trims back the performance of your engine to a significant degree. 
 
We have worked together with Pace Products, the same company previously responsible for the manufacture of the well known FP Intercooler. Having conducted extensive testing of core and fan combinations we now offer 2 intercooler options, both giving improved performance over what has been previously achieved.
 
These intercoolers are only available from Noblemods and are not the same as the old FP ones.
 
Fast Road / Track Intercooler
 
Using a similar dimension 50mm core to the FP Intercooler but with an increased cooling element pitch angle there is a small but significant improvement in airflow through the core. A temperature switch is fitted into the airflow of the outlet side which will allow the single 9 inch fan (rated to 624 cfm) to switch itself on when it reaches a preset temperature. This ensures that your inlet temperature is maintained at a value below that which the ECU starts to curtail the performance of your Noble.

Race Intercooler
 
This intercooler has the latest design 60mm extruded core for ultimate strength and low weight and better flow. Offering a 20% increase in area over our Fast Road intercooler, yet with 16% better flow. Our tests have shown that heat soak and high air inlet temperatures take significantly longer to build in this intercooler than other versions. All this without increase in pressure drop so that throttle response is suitably maintained.
 
Under high heat conditions the temperature sensor will eventually trigger the 2 larger curve-vaned 10 inch fans to kick in and blow a huge volume of air through the core. Rated to 1590 cfm the fans have huge air-shifting abilities. The result is that the entire core is cooled much more efficiently and quickly, reducing temperatures as fast as possible and keeping power constant from the engine.
 
Our intercoolers are made by Pace, the same company responsible for the early FP coolers. Thus extremely high standards are maintained in the production of your intercooler by people with more experience that any other UK firm in the field. Indeed it should be noted that Pace is the main distributor of intercooler and radiator cores throughout the UK.

Oil Breather / Seperator
 
The standard item has a number of downfalls,
 
1) It is made of steel and rust particles can enter the oil and/or air inlet
2) Due to its construction oil can be pushed up from the sump and back out into the air inlet - very messy and not particularly good for the filter etc.. ! This is particularly noticeable on track
3) Oil laden fumes are recirculated back into the air inlet which lead to poorer combustion in the engine and lessening of the margin before the onset of 'knock'
 
The Noblemods alloy breather system will not suffer from the 'rust' problem and has a restricted return to stop the sump pressuring the oil back up into the seperator. It has a larger capacity than the original item and so is capable of holding much more oil - thus doubling up as a catch tank if a problem does occur.
It is designed to reduce the amount of oil laden fumes going into the engine by removing the necessity to use the air inlet return pipe and replacing this with a separate K&N breather filter
 
A seperate catchtank could be used as a lower cost alternative but this has a number of disadvantages;
 
1) It will not reduce the likelihood of oil being forced back up the return hose to flood the breather. It would merely be a collector to stop most of the spillage.
2) It would not do anything to remove the concern over rust deposits contaminating the oil system or air inlets
3) It would not take care of oil laden fumes being recirculated into the air inlet

'BOV' or 'DUMP VALVES'
 
We receive numerous requests for these and we now keep stock for immediate despatch.
 
Blow Off Valves or BOV's also known as dumpvalves release the immediate build up of high pressure when you close the throttle which normally has nowhere to go but back through the turbo compressor housing. Without a means of escape this pressure will put undue strain of the turbochargers bearings and will lead to a shorter life expectancy of the turbocharger as a whole. Add to the fact that your Noble has 2 turbochargers and thats an expensive bill we could do with waiting a longer time for !
 
These valves are very easy to fit and are of a twin-piston design which are immeasurably stronger than standard diaphragm designs which can often split. The piston has a dual stage ensuring that even at relatively low loads the valve will vent to atmosphere when the throttle is closed.
 
A further benefit is that turbo lag between gearchanges is reduced as the turbine wheels can continue to revolve instead of being slowed / stalled by high pressure trying to escape. A performance and precautionary item in one! Every Noble should have one.

Hardpipe Kit
 
A hardpipe kit has a number of benefits over lengthy silicone hoses. They increase the efficiency and performance of the intercooler pipe system by replacing the factory silicone pipe, which has a tendency to expand, come loose, or crank under boost conditions or due to deterioration. The use of metal intercooler piping offers increased durability, consistent boost pressure, improved response and an attractive appearance.
 
Whilst the intercooler outlet to throttle body is the main beneficiary of a hardpipe conversion we also include the front turbo to intercooler pipe in our kit which is 'bent' rather than cut and welded like the original item. It also balances the aesthetics under the rear clam nicely.
 
The pipe comes with threaded bosses for a BOV (dump valve) boss and air temp sensor and is very easy to install. Owners with a dump valve already installed should be able to screw theirs straight in - please contact us for confirmation of your particular application. The pipes are made from high grade stainless steel but some finishing may be required for the ultimate mirror shine if thats your thing !! This can also be arranged at additional cost i you don't like polishing things yourself !

Fuel Pumps
 
The stock fuel pumps can run towards their maximum duty, particularly if a new exhaust has been installed or boost has increased. Dont take the risk !! Install one of our fuel pump upgrades which is very straightforward to do.
 
We recommend installing the motorsport pump for total peace of mind.
 
Our fuel pumps come complete with instructions and a relay and new wires should you wish to upgrade the fuel pump wiring too (recommended)
